Appraisals & Valuation Services
OTE has the expertise to provide professional evaluations of art and personal property to address any of your appraisal needs.
OTE is USPAP compliant and maintains an ethical work environment. All experts are USPAP qualified to appraise from 19th century until 21st century art. Members belong to accredited appraisal organizations such as the American Society of Appraisers (ASA), Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), and have also participated in multiple panels.
DAMAGE & LOSS/FRAUD APPRAISALS
Should personal property by damaged by smoke, fire, floods, vandalization or other accidental means an appraisal to assess the loss in value is often required. In these cases OTE will provide a report detailing the loss as well as retail replacement cost prior to the damage.
INSURANCE APPRAISALS
Art, jewelry, silver, period furniture, custom made items and items with historical significance should be subjects for insurance appraisals. OTE appraisals are accepted by insurance companies internationally and protect your valuables in your residence(s), professional space or in storage.
TRUST & ESTATE APPRAISALS
OTE has years of experience handling estate appraisals, that are subject to IRS scrutiny. OTE also has the capability to provide reports on blockage discounts and fractional discounting in estates.
MATRIMONIAL APPRAISALS (EQUITABLE DISTRIBUTION)
In the case of dividing a household during divorce, OTE appraisers analyze all the tangible assets to determine appropriate Fair Market Value, as well as locate venues for possible sale. Clients may request video documentation.
APPRAISALS FOR CHARITABLE CONTRIBUTION
OTE will determine the Fair Market Value of the work to be donated for Federal tax deductions in conformation with IRS standards.
APPRAISALS FOR COLLATERAL VALUE
For art or valuables in a financial context OTE can offer clients a process tailored to the institution making the loan.
